Multi-Works 600

Compact, accurate and easy to use

The MW-600 is small footprint (fits in a hood) benchtop 96/384 channel air displacement liquid handler. With CV's of less than 3% from 1-5ul, it offers some of the best precision available and has development software that does not require a Masters degree in computer science.

Reliable and affordable
MW-600 is a cost effective alternative to larger expensive "aircraft carrier" style liquid handlers. Let's face it, lab space is at a premium and sometimes you need to fit a lot of capability into smaller spaces and even tighter budgets. MW-600 isn't much bigger than your average plate reader and can fit into a variety of hoods for a fraction of what you might think.

Flexible and expandable

MW-600 dispense heads can be changed quickly by operators (96, 386, 8, 16, custom), enabling a number of configurations. No special tool or service engineers are required! The MW-600 can even pick up 96 tips from a 384 tip box (in quadrants) something that larger, more expensive units cannot do! An optional stacker hotel provides upto 200 plates of walkaway automation.

The Personal-Pipettor 230 is a semi-automated plate preparation instrument. PP-230 has oustatnding precision and can help eliminate manual pipetting errors and can be programmed for a variety applications by even the most novice user.

Ideal solution for plate replication or serial dilutions
The PP-230 is a perfect choice for labor intensive operations that are prone to human error such as plate replication or reformatting. Additionally, users will find the PP-230 a very capable tool for serial dilutions. The easy to use touch screen interface eliminates the need for a PC.

Extended walkaway time

Plate stackers have been around for many years. They offer the most basic automation capability and enable users to 'walk-away' from an operation for a period of time. The MS-400 can be configured for 100 or 200 standard micro plates which far exceeds the capacity of most current stacker designs.

Compact, accurate and easy to use

The MS-705 is a small footprint single plate dispenser with disposable, pre-sterilized tubing cartridges. Standard- or small-bore needle options provide a wide range of fluid pipetting options. The MS-705 is also fast and has a wide volume range (1 µl to 2,000 µl) and offers greater flexibility in assay design

That pretty much sums up thermal cyclers...but music aside, the demands of molecular biology requires precise, reliable performance with tigtht well-to-well temperature uniformity and uniformly predictable temperature ramps. Testing annealing temperatures of primers? Gradient capability is a must.
Astec, The GeneAtlas family of thermal cyclers covers all needs and budgets.

Several models to choose from

GeneAtlas is available in four standard configurations; Economy, Standard, Gradient and High Performance. The 'Type S'Standard models (S02 - 96 well and S05 - tubes) and Type 'G' Gradient (G02 - 96 well and G05 - tubes) share virutually identical performance aside from the gradient capability. High Precision or 'Type HS' is available in 96 well format only (HS02) and has a much tighter well-to-well temperature uniformity than Standard models. Finally, 'Type E' or Economy models (E02 - tubes and E05 96 well) have similar performance characteristics as the Standard version, they just lack the touchscreen interface and are therefore slightly less expensive.

It seems like just about everyone who has performed PCR has used an MJR unit...they were robust, reliable and had interchangeable blocks that meant one unit could be easily reconfigured. Well good as they were, they just aren't making them anymore. Our parent company Biodirect in one the premiere providers of refurbished or repair of MJR PTC and other manufacturer's units.
